Terms & Conditions

These Terms govern your use of Boone (the "Service"), operated by Teddys Livs AB — Aktiebolag (AB), Sweden, registered ID 559380-3876 ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Boone. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.

3. How the game works

Businesses ("Hosts") place digital "treasures" tied to a real-world location. Players ("Explorers") who reach the location within range can claim a treasure and receive a redemption code. Hosts honor the reward when an Explorer presents a valid code in person. Boone is not a party to any transaction between Hosts and Explorers. Boone also offers other location-based activities such as fire lookout activations and herbalist visits, subject to the weekly limits shown on your plan.

3a. Crews

You may create or join a "Crew" — a small group of players who can see limited shared activity. Crew leaders can invite or remove members, rename the crew, and dissolve it. Joining a crew shares your display name and activity summary with other members. Leave a crew any time from the Crew tab.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• spoof or falsify your GPS location;
• trespass, break local laws, or endanger yourself or others while playing;
• place treasures on private property without permission, or in unsafe locations;
• harass other users or post abusive content;
• scrape, reverse-engineer, probe for vulnerabilities, or otherwise interfere with the security or integrity of the Service;
• infringe anyone's intellectual property or other rights;
• use the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

5. Account review and temporary suspension

To protect the integrity of the game and other users, we may temporarily restrict an account's ability to claim or redeem treasures while we review activity that appears to violate these Terms or our anti-fraud safeguards (for example, suspected location spoofing, automated claiming, or abuse). You will see an in-app notice while a restriction is in effect. If you believe a restriction was applied in error, contact us at privacy@boone.gg.

6. Safety

Boone is played in the real world. Be aware of your surroundings, follow traffic laws, respect private property, and use common sense. You play at your own risk.

7. Subscriptions and payments

Stripe acts as the Merchant of Record for paid Boone subscriptions. That means Stripe sells the subscription to you on Teddys Livs AB's behalf, issues your receipt, and calculates, collects, and remits any applicable sales tax or VAT for your country. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled from your account settings; you may cancel at any time and will retain access until the end of the current billing period. Prices are shown in USD and include any applicable sales tax or VAT for jurisdictions where Stripe collects on our behalf — the price you see is the price you pay. By subscribing to a paid plan you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter a recurring contract; we record your confirmation, the date, and the version of these Terms you accepted. Billing and payment-method support is handled by Stripe; product support stays with us at support@boone.gg.

7a. Push notifications

If you opt in, Boone may send push notifications about nearby treasures, quest updates, and account events. Notifications are opt-in and can be revoked at any time from Account or your device settings.

8. Price changes

We may change subscription prices, plan features, or introduce new tiers at any time. Existing subscribers continue to be billed at the price in effect when their current subscription was created, until they cancel, change plans, or we give at least 30 days' notice of a price change applying to their plan (communicated in-app or by email). If you do not accept a notified price change, you may cancel before it takes effect and retain access through the end of your current billing period.

9. Refunds

Boone subscriptions are digital services delivered immediately upon purchase and are non-refundable, including unused time on a current billing period and accidental renewals. You can cancel at any time from your account settings to stop future renewals; access continues until the end of the current period. This policy does not affect statutory consumer rights that may apply in your jurisdiction (for example, the EU right of withdrawal for digital services, where applicable). 9a. Boone Bucks and gift card redemptions

Boone Bucks are an in-game balance with no cash value and cannot be withdrawn, transferred, or exchanged outside the Service. You can request a gift card by encountering a Traveling Salesman in the Service and selecting a value denominated in SEK. When you submit a request you must be at least 18 years old, provide a valid email address for delivery, and accept these Terms. Your Boone Bucks are debited immediately when you submit a request. Requests are reviewed and fulfilled manually by Boone; delivery is best-effort and typically completes within a few business days, though it may take longer. You are responsible for the accuracy of the email address you provide — we cannot recover or resend a gift card sent to an incorrect address. Boone may reject a request for any lawful reason (including suspected fraud, safety concerns, or supply constraints); rejected requests are refunded at Boone's discretion and Boone is under no obligation to refund Bucks spent on an approved request. Gift cards are issued through our fulfillment partner GoGift and by the underlying third-party brands, subject to their respective terms; Boone is not the card issuer. 10. Content and treasures

Hosts are solely responsible for the rewards they offer, the accuracy of their listing, and honoring valid redemption codes. We reserve the right to remove treasures that violate these Terms or generate abuse reports.

10a. Redemption and business discretion

Hosts agree to honor valid Boone redemption codes in good faith when an Explorer presents them in person and behaves lawfully at the venue. Hosts retain final say over whether any individual redemption is completed at their premises and may reject a code — which consumes it and prevents further use — for reasons such as abusive behavior, damage to property, harassment of staff or other patrons, refusal to comply with the venue's posted rules, or suspected fraud. A rejection is treated as the redemption event for that code: no further reward is owed by the Host or by Boone. When a Host rejects a code they must record a short reason, which is stored for Boone admin review and is not shared with the Explorer. Boone reviews rejection patterns and may act against Hosts who abuse this tool, but Boone does not adjudicate individual venue disputes and is not a party to any transaction between Hosts and Explorers.

10b. Business staff and redeemer devices

Business Pro accounts may authorise additional "redeemer devices" so staff can validate treasure redemption codes without full account access. The business owner is solely responsible for who they authorise and for revoking devices when staff no longer need access. Revocation is instant and takes effect on the next request from that device. Actions taken from a paired device — including redemptions and rejections — are attributed to the business account that authorised the device.

11. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Teddys Livs AB. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within your selected plan. You may not copy, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the Service.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that any specific treasure will remain available before you reach it.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Teddys Livs AB is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swedish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.

14a. Beta status and evolving product

Boone is under active development. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, with no guarantee of uptime, feature stability, or continued availability of any particular capability. Features, pricing, plan limits, reward types, in-game economy (including Boone Bucks conversion rates), map coverage, achievements, and quests may be added, changed, paused, or removed at any time, in whole or in part, without individual notice. The underlying data model, storage format, retention windows, and stored fields may also change as the product evolves; we will act reasonably to preserve user-generated content, but in exceptional circumstances (for example major migrations, corrupt data, or security incidents) historical data may be migrated, redacted, reset, or lost. To the extent permitted by law, Teddys Livs AB accepts no liability for loss arising from such changes. Your continued use of the Service after any change constitutes acceptance of that change.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
